Version 2.5 Released!

Opteq Systems International Limited (OSI) is pleased to announce the immediate availability of Singular iQ version 2.5 which builds on the already successful and well received version 2.4. All units shipped from the 15th of March 2008 will include the new version and the update will be available for downloading from the 18th of March 2008. This upgrade is free to all existing clients who have a current SMP with OSI.

Requirements

Version 2.4, with patch 043 (pch240000-043) is required for this update and a shutdown and restart will be necessary after the update has been applied.

Changes

This is an overview of the changes from v2.4 to v2.5. For a full list of changes, please refer to the change log that is supplied with the update on the partner or license site.
In addition this update includes all patches to v2.4 and fixes for all reported/known bugs.

General

    1. The introduction of Simple Menus to the majority of the modules.
    2. Fixed all known bugs.

Bandwidth i.Q

    1. New Quota engine. Now supports floating quotas and multiple quotas per rule. Take note that during upgrade a quota with both a daily and a monthly limit will be split into two new quotas which will both be linked to the rule that uses them.
    2. Graphs updated in stats pages:
    a. Interface Stats.
    b. Interface Group Stats.
    c. Application Monitor.
    3. Improved handling of large rule sets (> 10,000 rules).
    4. Added new Quota reports.

Central i.Q

    1. Central i.Q can now distribute Web i.Q - Cache ACL's to SMS.
    2. Web i.Q - ICAP ACL’s also fully supported now.
    3. If a SMS is registered to a CMS, an icon will be shown on the SMS.
    4. Added Firewall i.Q rule set distribution support.

Compress i.Q

    1. Added the ability for rules with compression failover to auto-re-enable should the remote host be reachable again.

Firewall i.Q

    1. Added column sorting to Active NAT State Table.
    2. Fixed problem where Advanced firewall rules were not showing hits correctly.
    3. Improved firewall reports.
    4. More advanced checking when adding advanced firewall rules - now checks for duplicate rules.

Motion i.Q

    1. Updated to use new look graphs.

Mail i.Q

    1. Reports have been updated and some corrections made.

Report i.Q

    1. Added support for graphs within PDF documents.
    2. Fixed problems with reports not arriving at the scheduled time.

Singular i.Q – Client SVPN

    1. Added two reports:
    a. Client activity sorted by username
    b. Client activity sorted by date

Singular i.Q - Redundancy

    1. Added the following to automatic replication:
    a. Bandwidth i.Q Quotas
    b. Bandwidth i.Q Rule sets
    c. Bandwidth i.Q Profiles
    d. Bandwidth i.Q Templates
    2. Added the ability to auto replicate rule sets every X minutes
    3. Added the ability to specify more than one IP per VRID

Singular i.Q – Secure VPN

    1. Added support for multiple routes with a VPN tunnel.

Singular i.Q - System Tools

    1. Added graph showing traffic per bridge group.
    2. Proxy support fully added into Update Manager.
    3. New API Options:
    a. Bandwidth i.Q Quotas
    b. Bandwidth i.Q Templates
    c. Improved speed for Bandwidth i.Q commands
    4. Added support for changing a failover cards’ monitor time.
    5. Added a diagnostics page which will help in diagnosing problems on a unit.
    6. Added more information to User Notices that are emailed.

Web i.Q – Cache

    1. All options moved around to be more logically laid out for easier setup. New menus now include:
    a. Logging options
    b. Required options
    c. Performance options
    d. User authentication options
    e. WCCP options
    f. FTP Proxy options
    g. ACL options
    h. ICAP options
    i. Pre-fetcher options
    2. Added more advanced WCCP Options.
    3. New option for minimal logging - will only log basic information with little overhead.
    4. Simple stats graph page. Ability to show graphs according to minimal logging stats.
    5. New Cache engine report. Shows connected clients, requests per second, kBytes in and kBytes out in one report.
    6. Added a FTP Proxy which can be transparently used to save FTP data.
    7. Added support for using TCP/UDP for Kerberos authentication.
