Opteq Systems International Limited (OSI) is pleased to announce the immediate availability of Singular iQ version 2.6 which builds on the already successful and well received version 2. All units shipped from the 1st September 2008 will include the new version and the update will be available for downloading from the 27th August 2008. This upgrade is free to all existing clients who have a current SMP with OSI.

Requirements

Version 2.5 is required for this update as well as patch 50 for version 2.5 (pch250000-050). There is no reboot required after applying Version 2.6 but any running Web i.Q. modules will be stopped and started again at the end of the update.

Changes

This is an overview of the changes from v2.5 to v2.6. For a full list of changes please see the change log that is supplied with the update on the partner or license site. In addition this update includes all patches to v2.5 and fixes for all reported/known bugs.

Notes

Please note that due to the significant amount of GUI look and feel changes a full browser refresh is required after the update. Depending on the browser this can usually be achieved by refreshing while holding SHIFT or CTRL. If after the update your theme appears to be broken, or have incorrect colours, or certain javascript popups do not show simply repeat the procedure.

General

1. Substantial changes have been made to the look and feel of the GUI, with the goal being to increase readability, ease of use and presentability.
2. Improved Help system to be more context sensitive and return better search results.
3. Dramatic improvement to the look and usability of the help system.
4. Several improvements in speed and functionality to factory reset and database resets.
5. Added several intelligent backup methods for auto-restoring the unit in case of data-loss (power failures, etc).

1. Completely new reports, utilising the new features of Report i.Q.
2. Improved HTTP reporting in Application Monitor.
3. Improved range moves, deletes, suspends etc.
4. Improved tooltips and nested groups in interface stats.
5. Improved file upload support for rulesets.
6. Improved template ease of use.
7. Several updates to protocols and the protocol dropdown is in better order.
8. API can request last in/out and current in/out for rules.
9. Added ability to edit the name and comments of Traffic Snapshot filter sets.
10. Improved Snapshot functionality on LAN interface.
11. Auto refresh remembers your preference in stats popups if you are viewing a single rule or group.

14. Templates' line-speeds can now be changed.

1. Complete overhaul of the Report i.Q. system, adding many new features and changing all graph types.
2. Updated the first 5 colours of the default pallete to be the Pastel set.
3. Added support to rollback reports to the system defaults.
4. Report subheadings are now alphabetical.
5. Fixed problem where graphs may not change through various levels of pagination.
6. Added search feature on every report.
7. Graphs now show correctly in all PDF reports.

10. Any column can be heatmapped in Report i.Q. now using the column header popup.

5. Added ability to do NTP updates with a much more flexible time period, and several new functions.

9. Fixed problem where System Monitor would not alert if a logfile was over 500,000 lines.

Web i.Q - Cache

1. Several improvements to the performance of the Cache.
