Version 2.7 Released

Opteq Systems International Limited (OSI) is pleased to announce the availability of Singular iQ version 2.7 which builds on the already successful and well received version 2.6. All units shipped from the 1st of June 2009 will include the new version and the update will be available for downloading from the 9th of June 2009. This upgrade is free to all existing clients who have a current SMP with OSI.

Requirements

Version 2.6 is required for this update. There is no reboot required after applying Version 2.7 but any running Web i.Q. and Mail i.Q. modules will be stopped and started again at the end of the update.

Changes

This is an overview of the changes from v2.6 to v2.7. For a full changes list please see the change log that is supplied with the update on the partner or license site. In addition this update includes all patches to v2.6 and fixes for all reported/known bugs.

Notes

Please note that due to the significant amount of GUI look and feel changes a full browser refresh is required after the update. Depending on the browser this can usually be achieved by refreshing while holding SHIFT or CTRL. If after the update your theme appears to be broken, or have incorrect colours, or certain javascript popups do not show simply repeat the procedure.

General

  • New logon screen based on the new Opteq International (www.opteqint.net) website.
  • The unit’s shutdown/reboot speed has been improved.
  • Several changes have been made to the JavaScript and style sheets to improve loading time of the GUI over slower links.

  • The menu system has been re-ordered to be easier and quicker to use.
  • The ability to automatically compress uncompressed attachments has been added. This feature increases load on the unit, but can help to reduce bandwidth usage and improve mail speed as large attachments will be compressed and grouped.

  • The spam scanner’s speed has been significantly improved.
  • Several dangerous content blocking options have been added.
  • Several reports have been added to increase visibility of the data.
