Application Delivery Guaranteed
Opteq accelerates all applications including CIFS (windows file sharing), MAPI (Microsoft Exchange), SQL, FTP, Print, and HTTP (including SharePoint). This application-specific acceleration reduces the impact of latency and chatty protocols, while also decreasing response times for end-users. The end result is LAN-like application performance over the WAN.
Opteq’s patent-pending host pacing technology dramatically improves wide-area network (WAN) performance from a central location.
This means Opteq can be deployed asymmetrically (that is, just at the central site) when only traffic management is required. This significantly reduces both the Total Cost of Ownership and operational expenditures as you need only one device, to control all applications and usage on the network, with greater efficiency and less effort. Allowing one to deploy units and selected technologies at remote sites only as and where required based on actual hard evidence gleamed from reporting stats.
SINGLE BOX BANDWIDTH MANAGEMENT / DUAL BOX WAN OPTIMISATION
All WAN Management and Optimisation Techniques in a Single Solution.
Technologies include:
Opteq’s Traffic Prioritization / Bandwidth Management is used by some of the world’s largest carriers and guarantees high performance even when WAN links become congested and allows successful redistribution of the bandwidth saved and gained via acceleration.
Application-Intelligent Traffic Classification: Layer 7 visibility for an accurate picture of network traffic.
Network and Application Monitoring/Analysis: Look deeper into application traffic network utilization and response times, performance diagnostics, connection profiling and forensics as well as SLA tracking with proactive altering and management.
Host Pacing ensures that higher priority traffic types have a free lane on the network at all times by controlling traffic of all types at source without the need to ever queue packets thus completely eliminating congestion, packet retransmissions and drops. Queue Elimination provides the lowest latency traffic management solution available – high priority packets are not slowed down by queuing technologies as used by competitors. True QoS makes certain that all critical business applications get the priority they deserve. Fair Share enforces that an equal amount of bandwidth is provided to all network users and applications based on real time demand and ensures business critical applications are not slowed or disconnected as a result of other traffic sharing the WAN link.
TCP Acceleration increase throughput of TCP traffic over high bandwidth and/or high latency links by putting more data on the wire. TCP Window Scaling manipulates window sizes to allow better utilization of links and increase throughput of data transfers over high bandwidth and/or high latency links. UDP Rate Control manages UDP packets at the application level providing much more intelligent management than aggregate queuing schemes allowing inbound and outbound granular UDP control. Application Pipelining improves application response times and reduces unnecessary overhead through smart round trip elimination and accelerated connection establishment.
Traffic Marking: Mark packets with prescribed DiffServ, IPTOS/Precedence, MPLS tags, VLANs and others. Tie applications to correct IP VPN class of service; compare performance between applications with different Type of Service (ToS) settings. Extended MPLS allows dynamic remarking of MPLS packets to maximise class utilisation.
Latency and Jitter Management smoothes performance by measuring and managing latency and jitter. Flow Optimization improves TCP transmission efficiency for high latency networks, eliminates retransmissions and helps TCP recover quickly after packet loss to achieve the highest utilization of lousy and congested links.
Network Balancing to manage any number of branch offices from a central location, with no limit to the number of rules or groups providing for maximum granularity, visibility, reporting and control.
Protocol specific acceleration for example pre-caching of web, DNS, MAPI, SQL and FTP information in anticipation of it being used.
Packet Aggregation Improves the performance of chatty applications by sending many small packets as one large packet to reduce header overhead. The small packets resulting from compression and caching, are aggregated to further enhance the overall
application performance. Byte Caching is a technique for replacing repetitive streams of raw application data with shorter “tokens” prior to transmission over the network. Because Byte Caching is not protocol specific, it can be performed on all traffic completely transparent to the client and servers. Compression performs cross-stream data compression reducing packet size. The reduced packet sizes are then aggregated before transmission Reduce data over the WAN and increase throughput by sending less data.
Centralized Monitoring and Reporting: Deploy and control multiple units with centralized management and reporting features that leverage the capabilities of every Opteq on the network.
