Singular iQ is essentially the Server Management System. It is the software module that stands between the user and the underlying operating system and interprets between the two in a graphical user friendly and secure way. It also contains all the infrastructure needed by all Opteq software modules as well as license and update management.

The Opteq Singular iQ Server Management System is delivered as standard on all Opteq iQ products and has the following features -

• Secure User management with multiple level access control allowing the administrator to completely control who can access the unit and what information that they can see.
• Installation routines, configuration and system parameters.
• License and Upgrade management.
• Support and backup management.
• Documentation and a context sensitive help system.
• A secure firewall for protection of the unit itself.
• An Intruder detection system with auto recovery.
• A secure HTTP server for user access
• A high speed robust SQL server for all statistics and reporting with ODBC access and replication optional.
• A system monitor, which monitors the system and reports problems.
• Services monitored include -Installed modules, Fans, Temperature, Disk Space, Buffers, and system load.
• A Watchdog routine, which detects a system freeze and recovers within 5-10 seconds.
• A Network Time client to keep the system clock synchronized with industry standard atomic clocks.
• A secure SSH server for remote support and upgrades.
• An SNMP service for remote network management, which will communicate with any industry standard SNMP manager.
